Portfolio

From podcasts to live events to TV, I specialize in crafting stories and projects that are authentic, personable, and surprising. Here are a few of my favorites from over the years.

The Mortified Guide (Netflix)

Segment: Unicorn Island

“Unicorn Island” segment from The Mortified Guide, official selection of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Originally produced for Netflix, now on Tubi.

Snap Judgment (KQED)

Episode: Lost in Vegas

A gritty and surprising story about how laughter can save us in the darkest moments of life.  Produced for the public radio show/podcast, Snap Judgment.

Mortified Podcast (Radiotopia, PRX)

Episode: TV Saved My Life

An audio documentary I wrote and produced about John, whose life was transformed by an unusual hobby involving TV. It was produced for The Mortified Podcast with Radiotopia.

The Mortified Guide (Netflix)

Segment: Twin Tales

Segment from The Mortified Guide, official selection of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Originally produced for Netflix, now on Tubi.

Ooh You’re in Trouble (PRX, CPB)

Segment: Candy Smuggler

I wrote and produced 2 seasons of an educational documentary series for kids called Ooh, You’re in Trouble for PRX and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The show used humor to teach kids about making ethical decisions. Working on this show was a highlight of my career, and families still send fan letters about how it helped them. Here’s a sample episode.

Ancestry.com

Branded Content

My company was hired by Ancestry to develop, write, cast, and produce Was That Me, a series of ads to promote their digital archive of yearbooks.

Unreleased Pilot

A passion project, this is an unreleased pilot for an unusual, magazine-style podcast that I’m proud of. “NAMIAC” is a show about how things get named and what that reveals about our world. This is a show for curious seekers, able to explore everything from marketing to history to science to pop culture.

I Can’t Believe I Did That (Game)

I provided project development, copy, and creative direction for a Penguin Random House card game that challenged players to share stories about their lives.

A colorful board game box titled "I Can't Believe I Did That" with a subtitle about sharing awkward, awesome, and unforgettable memories.
A deck of cards with prompts for memorable moments and feelings, featuring bright colors and lightning bolt designs.
Instruction sheet for a memory game with steps for gameplay and image previews of game cards.
The game components for "I Can't Believe I Did That..." including cards with prompts, categories like failure, teacher, and sleepover, along with explanatory text and a game box.
